the event
The Limerick International Fashion Student Awards 2014 will host a spectacular runway fashion show and awards ceremony on the 23rd October, 2014 showcasing the designs of the competing international student designers from colleges and universities across Britain and Ireland along with colleges across Europe.
entry criteria
Students will be expected to submit a mini collection of TWO outfits in either womenswear or menswear - or a mix of both men's and women's wear. The theme for this year's competition is to pose the question "can fashion be art"?
Fashion is often appreciated for its intrinsic beauty yet because clothing also has functionality some prefer to view it as craft rather than high art, this is dichotomy we wish competitors to explore.
wearable art
The lines of fashion and art blur and merge as one when art and human form combine using the body as the canvas with creativity, originality, skill in construction and conceptual idea.
- Each entrant must be either a student presently attending college or a recent graduate(2014)
- A maximum number of 5 entrants per college (students may work in teams)
- Entrants may utilise existing designs or create new designs
- The selection of participating students to be nominated by college
The student finalists will be judged by a panel of renowned fashion industry judges while having an opportunity to showcase their designs in a spectacular runway fashion show.
